Roland introduces next generation of V-Drums
Updating the world ’s most powerful and successful electronic drum lineup,Roland is introducing two new sets of V-drums electronic drum systems:the new flagship V-Session Set with V-Cymbals,and the new V-Concert Set,an updated version of the popular V-Pro.Like their predecessors, these new V-drums electronic drum sets employ ultra-sensitive mesh-head triggering,COSM modeling-based drum editing capabilities, and amazing sound quality to yield unrivaled expression and extreme flexibility for a range of live and studio applications. As the most powerful and complete V-drums set to date, the V-Session Set is based upon the TD-10 Percussion Sound Module and includes the TDW-1 Wave and System Expansion Board with V-Cymbal Control, giving drummers over 1,000 unique sounds with enhanced dynamics and sensitivity —not to mention the powerful COSM drum modeling, onboard effects and icon-based user interface which have made the V-drums so popular.
Included with the V-Session Set are Roland ’s new V-Cymbals:Crash (2),Ride (1) and Hi-Hat (1).These are the world ’s first electronic cymbals which can accurately emulate the inertia of real acoustic cymbals,“swinging ” and responding to cymbal “chokes ” as a drummer plays..And the increased playing realism is mirrored in the sound: Both the Hi-Hat and the Crash offer dual-triggering and increased dynamics, while theRide cymbal actually offers three-way -triggering (edge/bow/bell)and Positional Sensing capabilities on the bow of the cymbal —just like an acoustic ride. Drummers will also immediately notice the V-Session ’s sleek new metallic red stand, red drum shells, and the inclusion of a red KD-120 V-Kick pad.The stand also features Roland ’s innovative and sleek new hardware fittings. These new fittings are made of a revolutionary new material which grips the stand better while offering a more intuitive method of securing the fittings.
The new V-Concert Set,on the other hand,is an updated version of the immensely popular V-Pro Set,introduced four years ago.The V-Concert Set ’s combination of a COSM modeling-based TD-10 Percussion Sound Module, onboard effects,an icon-based user interface and innovative mesh-head V-pads has proven an irresistible package for professionals and serious drummers at all levels. The V-Concert Set takes this package to the next level with updated look based on a purple stand and metallic purple V-pads,plus the stronger, more convenient drum hardware found on the V-Session.
