Rock Drum Rhythms: Double Bar Tabs Exercise with heavy 8ths
A rock rhythm can be heavy, or played normal. There are many ways to play a heavy rhythm. In the previous lessons we played the "normal" version, but still a rock style rhythm. These type of rhythms do have a strong beat, with heavy bass drum and snare, but usually have a normal hihat, and are typically used for the intro or verse of a rock song.
Take a look at the next rock drum tabs. It’s just the same rhythm you might think. But listen to the included MIDI rhythm drum sound. It sounds completely different. This type of rhythm is used mostly for the chorus, if it’s heavier, the solo or the outro of the rock song. Give it your best!
