Puresound upgrades Marching, Drum Corps and Pipe Band Snare Wires

New designs, configurations and a universal mounting system highlight the improvements recently incorporated to Puresound’s premium range of wires for marching, drum corps and pipe band snare drums. Developed as after-market upgrades to elevate the performance of Dynasty, Pearl, Premier and Yamaha indoor and outdoor marching drums, each set of wires features a specially formulated steel alloy material with its specific weight and coil length determined to provide the best tone and response in both exhibitions and competitions. The individual strands are hand-soldered to Puresound’s exclusive copper end clips to further optimize their performance.
The redesigned Puresound wires also utilize a proprietary “Marching Snare Adapter” (MSA) system that consists of two quick-release blocks that allow easy and secure mounting of Puresound wires on most major manufacturer’s high-end snare drums.
Puresound’s marching wires are used and endorsed by leading corps, bands and drum line instructors including Tad Carpenter (Director of Percussion Studies and Assistant Band Director, Pasadena College and Percussion Instructor, UCS Trojan Marching Band) and Craig J. (HOSS) Colquhoun (drum designer and three-time World Champion Pipe Band Bass Drummer). “The Puresound wires not only give my drum line the sound and sensitivity we like, they give us the competitive edge we need,” says Colquhoun.
Puresound’s line of marching wires now includes the following models:
ME-1400 – 14-Strand Offset wires for 14? drum corps and marching band snare drums.
PBT-1421 – 21-Strand wires for top (batter-side) 14? pipe band drums
PBB-1419 – 19-Strand wires for bottom (snare-side) 14? pipe band drums
Available through leading band suppliers, Puresound Marching Snare Wires carried a suggested list price of $44.95.
