Peter Erskine Stick Bag Stands Alone
Yamaha Drums will show an updated, improved version of the unique free-standing Peter Erskine drumstick bag at Winter NAMM 2001, the YSB-PE2. Recent developments in manufacturing have made this ingenious bag not only more durable, but also more affordable.
The YSB-PE2 features a unique free-standing design that can be positioned conveniently on the floor next to the drum set. Not only does this feature relieve the weight of sticks and accessories hanging off floor toms, but it also prevents the bag from muffling their tone.
"When the Peter Erskine bag was first introduced, drummers loved its unique design," notes Jerry Andreas, Drum marketing manager. "Now that Yamaha has re-introduced the bag at a more accessible price point, more drummers will want one."
Designed for optimum efficiency and constructed of durable CORDURA® Nylon, the YSB-PE2 bag features four stick pockets, three accessory pockets, a mesh pocket for drum keys and personal items, plus a top flap that can also be used as a table for brushes and sticks. With a zip-around closure, carrying handle, and shoulder strap, the bag is not only practical, but also convenient and portable.
Peter Erskine is known for his versatility and love of working in various musical settings. He began his career at age 18 with the Stan Kenton Orchestra, and has since played with such groups as Weather Report, Steps Ahead, Steely Dan, the Yellowjackets, Chick Corea and Joni Mitchell, recording over 300 albums. The Grammy award-winning drummer was instrumental in the design of the Yamaha free-standing stick bag, which provides convenient access to sticks, etc., without damping the sound of any drums or restricting placement options.
"The new design features a built-in top shelf which allows for immediate switching between brushes, mallets and sticks, as well as all of the other free-standing features which have made the bag so well respected," states Erskine. "And now, it is priced for any drummer's budget!"
