The djembe, an ancient African instrument, is rapidly becoming an overwhelming favorite in the World Percussion community. One reason is the extraordinary array of tones it produces with minimal effort, from high scrapes with the fingernail to groaning lows from the heel of the palm.
{16003.jpgrLatin Percussion now proudly announces the LP Galaxy Giovanni Djembe, the latest addition to our acclaimed line of Giovanni drums. Made to the meticulous specs of master Giovanni Hidalgo, and hearkening back to the original African instrument, each Galaxy Gio Djembe is constructed of fine ash wood in a traditional "hourglass" shell shape.
The LP Galaxy Giovanni Djembe is a perfect companion for LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Congas and Bongos. It measures 25" tall and can be strapped on and played standing or seated as with congas. The 12 1/2" heads are made from select goatskin. An attractive fabric band decorates the "waist" of the drum. A beautiful clear finish brings out the vivid grain of the ash wood and also seals the drum and enhances its frequency range. LP Comfort Curve II Rims are standard.
Available in luxurious Gold Tone plating or chrome, each drum comes with a tuning wrench and LP Lug Lube. The LP Galaxy Giovanni Djembe sets a new standard of luxury and sound excellence in an ancient community drum.
